Shaper Associates looks at spaces with an eye for the human experience. We work with the nuances of the space, helping our clients with everything from materials and color palettes, to space planning, ergonomics, flow, and function. We believe that the people working in these spaces, or those healing, living, or visiting a building, will be nurtured because of our attention to even the smallest interior design detail.

The basis of nurturing healing environments is to use colors that soothe.Our team at Schaper Associates has development colors and concepts that improve the environments in healthcare facilities aiming at accelerating patient recovery.

This adult living campus covers many phases of health care. In the Assisted Living area we wanted to create different and interesting areas that would appeal to the diverse population. Schaper transformed their main dining room into a “French Style” café with simulated outdoor and indoor dining. In their Alzheimer unit we created a warm, colorful and nurturing environment. In addition to an Adult Day Care that was designed to look like someone’s home, we recently designed bungalows in the beautiful wooded area of the campus.

This is a very refined and lovely home for elderly adults. The design here was to create the upscale traditional environment that the residents were accustomed to. We also developed a “Main Street” area within the building complete with a Retro ice cream parlor, country store and a beautiful Courtyard facing these store fronts.

We participated in this with other members of the Interior Design Association of WNY. It was definitely one of the most rewarding projects we have ever done as it provided a warm and friendly environment where so many have gone for respite and help. It is a wonderful organization and we were proud to have been part of it.
